AV MEDIA has won the Live Event category with its Sochi – Letná Olympic Park project.
AV MEDIA became the winner of this year’s InAVation Award in the Live Events category with its Sochi – Letná Olympic Park project and was awarded the “Most InAVative Live Event” title. In the ninth year of the prestigious international competition, AV MEDIA succeeded among over two hundred, often widely renowned and large, firms and companies from the entire Europe, Middle East and Africa.
The unique project at the Letná park developed by AV MEDIA together with the Czech Olympic Committee followed our successful Czech Olympic House project in London 2012. The Letná park was equipped by over 200 m2 of LED screens and other visualizers enabling the visitors not only follow the competing Czech athletes, but also experience common cheering and enjoyment from their accomplishments. On an area of 17,500 m2, AV MEDIA distributed nearly 500 environmentally friendly lights illuminating ice hockey playgrounds, a snowboard track, a skating area and ice skating trails, paths and the stage. Besides classic lighting, also over 1.5 km of LED strips were used in order to illuminate the scenic footbridge leading through the park and the unique ice trail.

About the award
The InAVation Awards are organized by the specialized InAVate Magazine focused on AV and IT technologies and their integration. From all the participating projects and companies, the jury selects a certain number of finalists for a subsequent decision by the specialized public including technical managers, consultants, end users and system integrators. Their votes have a greater weight than those of manufacturers and distributors, so that the winners in individual categories really represent innovative and exceptional projects from the point of view of experts disregarding the size or reputation of the company.
AV MEDIA has been nominating its interesting projects to these awards from 2007, and often has been present in the final round. This recent success in the Live Events category thus follows a similar one in the Integration category awarded to AV MEDIA some years ago for the integration of audiovisual equipment within the new building of the Faculty of Informatics and Management at the University of Hradec Králové. This indicates that the work and projects by AV MEDIA are highly appreciated by international specialized public, and, thanks to our professional and technological background, we are able to outpace even projects coming from technologically more advanced countries.
