The Nový Bor Academy of Combined Cinematography (NASK) has organized a two-day event every autumn (since 2001) for cinema managers from the entire Czech Republic. It also awards prizes to the best Czech films, actors/actresses and directors every year. The event is attended by around sixty leading cinemas, for which a rich agenda is prepared. A number of lectures on current topics are held in the city cinema (new technologies, digitization, news from the Association of Cinema Operators, opportunities to obtain subsidies…). Every year, the Academy cooperates with distribution companies, which introduce cinema operators to the film plans for the following year and organize a screening of a selected film.
NASK also grants film awards in the following categories: For the best Czech film, for the best actor and the best actress, for direction, award of the President of the Academy and the Ajeto glassworks, and for the most successful film in film distribution.
