The tour of our studios could not do without the heart of the whole studio – the director’s room. Events and live broadcasts work here without problems, just like clockwork, thanks not only to the technology, but also to the team behind it.

Above you could have already learned:

This time we look behind the curtain of all events.

Director’s room is shared – one workplace can serve both studios. It also has several parts and we will go through them together step by step.

The

Director is indispensable during events. He/she discusses the concept with the client before the actual event. He/she can also pass on a lot of valuable advice to the client. As a result, the event itself has great visuals as well as overall format – it is dynamic and the viewers are not bored even in the online environment. He/she has full control over the contents and orientation in them, and during the live broadcast he/she takes care of the smooth functioning of the entire stream. He/she plays a key role even before the broadcast, before the countdown begins. The moment the red light comes on in front of the studio, the director becomes the brain of the whole event, managing the team of cameramen on set and technicians in the director’s room.

It is the sound engineer who is involved first. The performer does not have to go to the back of the director's room – right at the entrance he/she meets a microphone operator who helps him/her put on a microphone or in-ear. Thanks to the in-ear, the presenter can communicate with the director and vice versa without disturbing the viewer’s impression during the broadcast.

The director is the main person for the rest of the time. The camera editor also sits there – he/she can remotely control the cameras and adjust the shots from the cameras in various ways. The graphical designer sits right next to him/her. He/she takes care of all the visuals in the studio, i.e. what the viewers can see directly on TV or on other devices. Be it charts, added images or objects. It is important to say, however, that now he/she also takes care of 3D graphics.

Last but not least, there is also a technician who takes care of the smooth broadcast. If the client also broadcasts the event online, it is this person who has control over all channels, be it YouTube, Vimeo or Facebook – we stream on these platforms most often. At the same time, either alone or with a colleague, he/she takes care of remote participants. As a rule, before the actual broadcast, we make a test connection with the participant, test the quality of the signal and also help him/her sit down so that the transmission is of high quality – i.e. so that he/she does not have a window behind him/her, for example, so that he/she can be easily seen as well as heard.

There is also an interpreter’s booth in the director’s room. This allows us to broadcast bilingually. You can read about what such a stream looks like in one of our references.

Behind the cabin there is the last workplace – this is where presentations and videos are processed.

The tour of this part of the studio was concluded for the Back to Business guests with a short demonstration of how the technicians cooperate with each other at the event, and they were drawn into the story themselves – they received a script that they carefully checked and everyone was also given an intercom, without which no event is complete.
