Prague, 10 October 2014

Similarly to the last year, AV MEDIA became the main technological partner of the SIGNAL festival of light. From 16 to 19 October 2014, we will technically provide for two videomapping projection events and two lighting installations in Prague.

Last year, the SIGNAL festival became one of the most significant cultural events of the autumn. It was visited by over a quarter million people. This year, more than twenty lighting installations will be presented. AV MEDIA will technically contribute to two large format videomapping events on forefronts of Prague buildings.

“We are glad to be able to participate in such a unique event indicating and, at the same time, finding new ways of audiovisual technologies in public space. We are happy to apply our professional experience, equipment and background to enable the artists present their work and ideas to the visitors,“ says Jan Kubinec, Sales Manager for Rentals at AV MEDIA.

Our contributions involve a 3D E:Merge videomapping projection on the facade of the Michna palace created by the Turkish Nerdworking author group and the Australian project The Electric Canvas on the Municipal Library at the Mariánské square. On a giant projection screen, the visitors will see the Out of Place project by the authors having acquired their rich experience for instance by videomapping on the Sydney Opera House.

AV MEDIA will also provide for technical requirements of two lighting installations. They include the Light Barrier audiovisual project on the Střelecký island by the Kimchi & Chips Korean-British duo, which literally drags the audience into an imaginary world, and the technical requirements for image mapping on an object, specifically the statue of St. Caietanus directly on the Charles Bridge, called De/composition.

The SIGNAL festival is the largest exhibition of lighting arts in the Czech Republic taking place for the second time this year. It is performed in Prague’s streets, parks and squares, around the river banks, as well as on the Vltava river itself. On the scheduled days, visitors will be able to see lighting installations and projections from 7 to 12 pm. Access for all the visitors is free of charge.
