AV MEDIA won this year's international InAVation Awards competition in the category of Live Event, for their work at the Retail Summit 2015 Conference. This follows last year’s success with the project of Olympic Park Sochi-Letna, which won in the same category.

The Cybernetic Proving Ground (KYPO) in the category of Education Facility and VIDA! Science Centre Visitor Attraction category also fought for the title in the final round. In the tenth-annual international competition, which is part of the ISE 2016 exhibition, the company has succeeded as the only representative from the Czech Republic in a competition with nearly 150 submissions from across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

“We really appreciate this success. The fact that we are regularly ranked at the top in professional competitions, is proof that even in the Czech Republic we produce outstanding projects that succeed in a global comparison,” said Tomas Prado, the Marketing Manager of AV MEDIA, adding: “I hope we have the opportunity to collaborate on a similarly interesting and inspiring projects like Retail Summit in the future”.

The Retail Summit 2015 Conference, organized by Blue Events s.r.o., is known as the largest business conference in Central Europe, where Czech and foreign entrepreneurs, managers and experts meet to discuss the possibilities and ideal conditions in the Central European market. Last year it was attended by more than a thousand visitors and almost a hundred absorbing speakers. A key theme became “Finding new ways”, which is a necessary condition for the success of a business enterprise. “We took care of the technical and technological guarantee of the event, equipping not only the main hall, but also four other small rooms. We installed a panoramic projection in the main hall, which was connected to two more screens,” said Filip Klein, Project Manager at AV MEDIA, who went on to state: “Thanks to the fact that there were a record number of participants to enjoy the ultimate experience of the individual presentations and presenters, we wanted to provide a comfortable way of presenting.”

Successful projects in the final round

The Cybernetic Proving Ground (KYPO) was established at Masaryk University in Brno with the support of the Ministry of Interior of the Czech Republic for implementing a research project by the Institute of Computer Science. This is a unique virtual environment for research and development of methods to protect against attacks on the critical information infrastructure, among others. AV MEDIA realized the technology, including in particular the full HD projection display wall of stacked displays, video conferencing units and the sound system, the director’s booth, the control system, as well as the interior equipment, mobile carts, PC and AV racks, as well as technical support for the server and other devices. This collaboration created a multifunctional space that finds applications not only in simulating possible cyber attacks, but also for other professional and educational activities.

In the Vida! Science centrum project, which also reached the final round in the category of Visitor Attraction, AV MEDIA implemented the entire audio-visual technology, scenic lighting, contents and linking the entire centre to the visitor V-PASS system. This system allows park visitors direct interaction for easily managing exhibits, including content management. Visitors are drawn directly into the action of the exhibit because they can actively participate in competitions thanks to the QR code on the ticket, where they can record videos, take pictures, and immediately publish content on social networks thanks to the software.

AV MEDIA has nominated interesting realization to this contest since 2007 and has repeatedly made it to the final round. This year’s victory builds on last year’s success with the project of Olympic Park Sochi - Letna and success in the Integration category, for integrating the audio-visual equipment in the new building of the Faculty of Informatics and Management at the University of Hradec Kralove in 2009.

About the InAVation Awards competition

The InAVation Awards competition is organized by the professional magazine InAVate Magazine, which focuses on AV and IT technologies and their mutual integration. The jury chooses projects and finalists from all companies registered, with the professional community comprised of technical managers, consultants, end users and system integrators making the final decision. Their voices have greater weight than those of manufacturers and distributors, so the winners in each category represents truly innovative and exceptional projects from the view of experts, irrespective of whether it is a large company or well-known.
