The Outside and Inside Exhibition

From 2. 10. 2014 to 11. 1. 2015 you can admire the Outside and Inside exhibition at the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague, with the subheading of Fashion and Artificial Fibres from the 2nd Half of the 20th Century

About the exhibition

The exhibition presents approximately eighty fashion pieces ranging from the 1950s to the 1970s. Presently, there are clothing designs by the designer Monika Drápalová, for which the author won the Czech Grand Prize award last year.  The key to selecting items for the UPM collection have become artificial textile materials, from which iconic clothing are produced today, such as nylon underwear and tights, synthetic polyamide shirts, nylon jackets and tesil and crimplene trousers. The entire installation is revitalized by video projection that plays with the fibre structures and unique micro pictures, created by Pavel Mrkus, declared Personality of the Year by Art & Antiques Magazine in 2013. The clothing located on the rack in the foyer to the exhibition is not only for touching, but also for trying on.

AV MEDIA lent 14 projectors in total, thanks to which the video projection brought the whole hall to life. Projectors show the labels on the individual pieces of clothing on display in alternate Czech and English versions.
