PANORAMA VÍTKOV MOVIE THEATRE

The Place Where You Can Feel the Atmosphere of the 30´s

Built in 1930, the movie theatre was declared a national cultural monument in 2005 and underwent a demanding reconstruction. The main assumption for the successful reconstruction was to combine the authentic features of the thirties of the last century and the modern technology trends.

According to the head of the National Heritage Institute (NPU) based in Ostrava, Mgr. Michal Zezula, the monument reconstruction and restoration was well done. The NPU´s goal is not to have “dead houses” but to find a right balance between the original equipment, decorations and features kept and the new and contemporary trends.

The year-long reconstruction, which followed the six-year period when the cinema was closed, included the upgrade of the cinema auditorium as well as the complete reconstruction of both the exterior and the interior of the entire building.

The screening room now has 207 new cinema seats and 19 box seats, the latter being a dominant preserved from the original features. There is no other movie theatre in the country which can offer the box seats like this. In terms of the auditorium upgrade, the stage was enlarged to bring a space for various debates, lectures, performances, etc. The movie theatre was also digitalised to comply with the DCI standard. The unique experience, movie premieres, comfort environment, an excellent image and sound as well as a possibility to choose a movie you would like to watch by means of the FCB pages ... all of that is waiting for you when you decide to visit the new movie theatre in Vítkov.

The cinema technologies were installed by AV MEDIA. The following technology equipment was installed:
Christie CP2215
IMP-S2 cinema server
DepthQ technology
7-channel sound (DataSat AP25 audio processor, Crown amplifier, Crown loudspeakers)
