Bohemia Jazz Fest 2019

Great jazz performances revived from 8th to 15th of July 2019 several Czech squares.

One of the biggest jazz music festivals in Europe - Bohemia Jazz Fest celebrated 30 years since the Velvet Revolution.

The festival was founded by world-renowned jazz guitarist Rudy Linka and his goal was clear from the beginning. To introduce jazz to a wide audience in the Czech Republic, to attract the greatest foreign jazz leaders. And to keep everything for free for all visitors. After all, this music converges, does not obstruct and everybody has the right for jazz without any differences.

Of the many interesting artists performed for example Austrian guitarist Wolfgang Muthspiel, solo American guitarist Ralph Towner and pianist Stefano Bollani with his project Napoli Trip. Czech musicians also featured several performers - among them also singer Lenka Dusilová.

The Lifetime Achievement Award went to California's married couple Tuck & Patti, who also completed the Prague program and won an audience. Not only music but also jokes and the positive atmosphere they spread around.

After two evenings in Prague, the festival moved to other cities in the Czech Republic, specifically to Pilsen, Tábor, Liberec and Domažlice. Unfortunately, the Brno section was canceled for organizational reasons. Part of the festival's funds were raised thanks to the crowfunding campaign.

AV MEDIA EVENTS took care of all lighting, sound and stage. We also provided a 5 x 3 meters wide LED display. For lights we used proven technology from RoBe and for sound D&B T-series.

“The difficulty of Bohemia Jazzfest is in the almost daily move from one city to another. After 10:00 PM we must pack, load and move elsewhere. There we re-install everything from 6:00 AM” said Vilém Komárek, sales manager of AV MEDIA EVENTS, who technologically coordinated the event.
