ESSKA Congress 2025 at O2 universum
O2 universum recently hosted four major events in quick succession, with the ESSKA Congress standing out as one of the most significant – a prestigious international congress dedicated to sports medicine and orthopaedics. With nearly 5,000 attendees, it became the largest conference ever held at O2 universum since its opening.
The technical delivery encompassed the simultaneous operation of 14 conference halls, with complete AV support, presentation management, and speaker handling across all rooms. The solution also included recording and live streaming to the foyer for attendees unable to find space in the session rooms, alongside LCD and LED display installations throughout the exhibition area.
One of the most technically demanding aspects of the project was the setup of the main auditorium. Due to capacity and safety regulations, no equipment could be suspended from the ceiling. The entire system was therefore engineered as a ground support structure, with all trussing and technical equipment rising from the floor. The result was a bespoke solution carrying the full projection, lighting, and additional technical infrastructure – and the system performed without issue throughout the event.
The production also featured a custom stage design with a striking circular projection screen suspended above the stage, displaying the speaker in real time during presentations. As the congress spanned four floors, on-site coordination was maintained across all levels each day to ensure the seamless running of all sessions and activities.
The project demonstrated the capacity to manage a large-scale, multi-level production with complex technical requirements in one of the Czech Republic's premier congress venues.
